Disputes
We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If something is wrong, write to us first and we answer.
Media rights and legal information
A production service is not a universal rights clearance. boonvid selects and processes media to produce videos. We remain responsible for our own conduct and contractual obligations. Customers remain responsible for their uploads, instructions and subsequent uses. Our Terms cannot remove a rights holder’s rights or stop a claim against either party.
Photos, clips and edits
Photos and video clips can both be protected by copyright. Being searchable online, downloadable, old, widely shared or credited does not by itself make material available for reuse. Zooming, panning, cropping, adding filters, animation, subtitles or music does not automatically create permission. There is no universal safe number of seconds or percentage of a work.
Licences and source information
A licence covers only the rights and uses it actually grants. Check the applicable version and conditions, including commercial use, adaptations, attribution and any restrictions. Public-domain status can vary by jurisdiction. A search result or source label is useful evidence, not a legal clearance for every use. Paying for video production does not transfer ownership of third-party material.
Where attribution is required, retain the required creator credit, source and licence information and any required notice of changes. Credits do not substitute for permission. A copyright licence may not cover trademarks, privacy, publicity rights, identifiable people, protected artworks or an implied endorsement. Advertising and sensitive contexts may require additional permissions.
Fair use requires a specific assessment
U.S. fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107 considers the purpose and character of the use, the nature of the original, the amount and importance taken, and the effect on the potential market. No single factor guarantees the outcome. A documentary label, commentary, a short excerpt or an automated selection does not establish fair use on its own. We do not provide a legal opinion on fair use.
Before you use a delivered video
- Review the actual video and the available source and licence information for your intended use and territory.
- Resolve uncertain permissions and missing required credits before use; contact us about material that needs review or replacement.
- Check factual context, identifiable people, logos, artwork, music and your uploaded materials, as well as the rules of your chosen platform.
- Keep relevant permissions and licence records. A technical delivery check does not guarantee freedom from claims, platform restrictions or monetisation issues.
boonvid delivers files and does not automatically publish them to your channel. That division of tasks does not remove our own legal responsibilities. We do not guarantee that a platform will accept or monetise an output or that no copyright claim will arise.
Report a rights concern
Email hello@boonvid.com with the subject “Copyright / media rights”. Identify the work and the material you are concerned about, provide its location or an order reference if available, describe your rights or authority to act, and give contact details and supporting information. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. We may request clarification to locate and assess the issue. Do not knowingly submit false claims.
This contact channel does not represent that we are a registered DMCA designated agent or that any particular safe harbour applies. U.S. statutory notice requirements and remedies remain available where applicable; consult the official resources below. A request to us does not replace court procedures or suspend legal deadlines.
How we handle notices, counter-notices and repeat infringers is described in our Terms of Service.
Applicable documents and mandatory rights
See our Terms of Service for contractual responsibilities and limitations, Privacy Policy for personal-data processing, Cookie Policy, Withdrawal Information and Cancellation Form. This explanatory section does not retroactively amend existing contracts, expand a third-party licence or waive mandatory consumer or other statutory rights. Our U.S. incorporation does not exclude mandatory laws that apply in other jurisdictions.
